This is the world of Expo Milano 2015, a highly ambitious and highly relevant exhibition organized around the theme: Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life.

There are art exhibitions, national days, events throughout the Expo and also in Milan itself, different environments to wander through and restaurants offering food from around the world.

By underground railway (metro)

To reach the Exposition Site by underground (metro), purchase an extra-urbano (extra-urban) ticket, and take Linea 1 (Red line 1) to Rho Fiera Milano metro station. Duomo and Cadorna are both on Line 1, where they connect to the city’s other underground lines.

Travel time to the Expo Site is expected to be about 25 minutes from Piazza Duomo, 20 minutes from Stazione Cadorna, 35 minutes from Stazione Centrale, and 30 minutes from Stazione Garibaldi.

Exiting the Rho Fiera Milano underground station, which is close to the Fiorenza Ovest access point, visitors take the steps (currently under construction) to the Security Plaza.

Once through the security checks, visitors cross the Expo-Fiera pedestrian footbridge (PEF) to reach the Expo Site. There are ticket booths and visitor services in the access area of the Rho Fiera Milano metro station.

Expo 2015 Events

Coordinating the theme of Feeding the Planet at the Expo, Arts and Foods, Rituals since 1851 is the story of how the two are bound together. Kitchen implements and models and images of picnics, building designs, film, graphics and more show how the vision and consumption of food has evolved since the Great Exhibition in London in 1851. It’s at the newly opened Arts and Food Pavilion in the Milan Triennale in the city itself and runs through November 1.

Milan has become one great art gallery with exhibitions put on throughout the year on Leonardo da Vinci; Giotto; art from the Medicis, and modern photography . The Palazzo Reale exhibits paintings, sculptures and more from the golden period for the arts in the Visconti and Sforza dynasties from the 14th to the 15th century; the Palazzo della Ragione has Italia inside out, an exhibition of photographs from Italian and international photographers.

See Expo in Citta’ for more information about special events and exhibits running in greater Milan from May – October 31, 2015.
